Our denomination is known as one of the historic peace churches. We believe that conflict is inevitable but violence is not.
Brethren once set themselves apart through plain dress and distinct practices. In modern times, following the example of Jesus means living joyfully and gratefully for our blessings, sharing generously with those who have less, and thinking critically about the secular values of modern society.
While Brethren take seriously the Reformation principle of “the priesthood of all believers,” they live out their faith in community. They have freedom of individual conscience but test their faith against the wisdom of community. They value the relationships they have with others, regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey.
